Rajpal Yadav Granted Interim Bail in ₹9 Crore Cheque Bounce Case

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has been granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court in a cheque bounce case involving ₹9 crore. The court permitted his temporary release until March 18, 2026, to attend his niece’s wedding.

Details of the Case and Bail Conditions

Rajpal Yadav surrendered to authorities on February 5, 2026, and was held at Tihar Jail following court directives. He secured interim bail after depositing ₹1.5 crore as directed by the court. In addition to the deposit, the court has requested a ₹1 lakh personal bond and one surety.

Payment History and Outstanding Amount

According to Advocate Avneet Singh Sikka, representing the complainant, Rajpal Yadav has paid a total of ₹2.5 crore in installments. This includes ₹1.5 crore deposited on February 16, 2026, ₹75 lakh previously, and an additional ₹25 lakh deposited with the High Court. However, an outstanding amount of ₹6.5 crore remains.

Potential Settlement

The complainant’s side has offered to close the case permanently if Rajpal Yadav pays the remaining ₹6.5 crore before the next court hearing on March 18, 2026. Advocate Sikka indicated that if the full amount is paid, they would support the case’s closure in court.

Previous Appeals for Help

Prior to his surrender, Rajpal Yadav expressed emotional distress to the media, stating he lacked the funds to resolve the situation. Following his statement, several actors, including Sonu Sood and Ajay Devgn, reportedly offered assistance.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for March 18, 2026.
