Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena is having a historic season for Cuban players in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Randy Arozarena is enjoying the best season of his Major League career. He’s currently posting a career-best WAR (4.3). The Mexican-born Cuban records an offensive line of .245/.342/.451/.792 with 134 hits, 30 doubles, a triple, 27 home runs, 73 RBIs, 88 runs scored, and 27 stolen bases in 33 attempts. It turns out that before Randy Arozarena, the only player born in Cuba to achieve at least 30 doubles, 27 home runs, and 27 stolen bases in the same season was José Canseco. The powerful Oakland Athletics slugger hit 34 doubles and 42 home runs in 1988. He also stole 40 bases that year, becoming the first player to achieve a 40-40 season in MLB. He went on to win the Most Valuable Player award in the American League.

He isn’t just having a good year; he’s etching his name into the history books alongside Cuban baseball legends.
