Evenepoel Vents Frustration After Costly Bike Change at Rwanda Road Worlds

mechanical issues and a slow bike change derailed Remco Evenepoel‘s ambitions at the UCI road worlds on Sunday.

The Belgian rider had to switch bikes twice and experienced a visible frustration during a critical moment in his attempt to add road race gold to his time trial world title.

“I hit a pothole before Mont Kigali. After that, my saddle fully collapsed,” Evenepoel told Sporza. “I felt like I was in excellent shape.”
