Rescued a Madrid speleologist trapped for 30 hours in a cavity 450 meters deep

The Civil Guard has managed to rescue a 52-year-old speleologist who was trapped in a cavity in Pico la Sima A-60, located in the municipality of Ansó (Huesca) in the Aragonese Pyrenees.

The man, neighbor of Rivas Vaciamadrid (Madrid) was located at 450 meters deep and was given painkillers to deal with the pain caused by a possible shoulder and humerus injury.

The rescue operation began at dawn on Wednesday with the displacement of several members of the Mountain Civil Guard from different units deployed in Huesca and Pamplona to which specialists in microblasting from the Cangas de Onís Area (Asturias) joined.

The rescue work continued the following morning with the participation of 50 agents from the GREIM of Jaca, Panticosa, Boltaña, Benasque, Huesca, Mora de Rubielos, Tarazona and Pamplona, ​​three GEDEX Zaragoza specialists, two pilots from the Huesca Air Unit, the four specialists in microblasting and others twenty-one lifeguards from the Aragonese Espeleosocorro in support.

At the moment, the man is admitted to the hospital recovering from the injuries suffered by the fall and having been trapped for 30 hours in the cavity.
