Syria Updates: Anti-ISIS Operations & Doctor Protests

Syrian security forces have been conducting widespread operations targeting Islamic State (ISIS) cells. On the first day of a large-scale operation, 61 raids were carried out across multiple provinces, resulting in the arrest of 71 individuals. Authorities reported capturing both medium and high-level ISIS figures, some of whom were reportedly hiding in areas with Christian and Druze populations in Homs province and other regions including Idlib. Seized materials included weapons, IEDs, grenades, ammunition, and a thermal scope.

These anti-ISIS operations continued today with further arrests and weapons seizures across several provinces, with raids ongoing as of tonight.

Separately, resident doctors in Damascus protested unpaid salaries, which have gone outstanding for six months. The doctors are urging authorities to resolve a reported confusion between ministries regarding the payments.
