Resident Evil Requiem Achieves 5 Million Units in Sales, Celebrating 30 Years of Survival Horror

Capcom’s latest installment in the iconic Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Requiem, has surpassed 5 million units sold worldwide. This milestone was reached less than a month after the game’s release on February 27, 2026, marking a significant success for the franchise as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this month.

A New Chapter in the Resident Evil Saga

Resident Evil Requiem follows the story of FBI agent Grace Ashcroft and DSO operative Leon S. Kennedy as they investigate a series of mysterious deaths connected to survivors of the Raccoon City outbreak. Their investigation leads them to Victor Gideon, a former Umbrella scientist. The game allows players to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives and features gameplay that adapts to the characters – more action-focused for Leon and classic survival horror for Grace, who is new to the world of bio-terrorism.
