Robert Saleh Joins Packers as Offensive Consultant

Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh has joined the Green Bay Packers in a consulting role. Saleh was spotted at Packers practice on Wednesday, and it appears this won’t be a one-time visit.

The move comes as no surprise, as Saleh and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur share a long history. They previously coached together at the college level and with the Houston Texans. LaFleur reached out to Saleh after the Jets parted ways with him, recognizing the value of his experience.

“We’ve been close for a really long time,” LaFleur said at his press conference. “We were roommates together back at Central Michigan. Thought it was a good idea just to bring him here and he’s helping us on the offensive side of the ball. I think that’s always a good deal to have that defensive perspective on that side of the ball. Just taking a look at some of the things we’re doing.”

LaFleur emphasized that Saleh’s role is “fluid” and he will be working with the Packers’ offensive coaches. Saleh, who served as the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator before taking the Jets job, brings valuable insight from his defensive background. LaFleur expects Saleh to be back at practice on Thursday, although there is no set schedule for his future involvement with the team.

Stay tuned for updates on Robert Saleh’s contributions to the Green Bay Packers this season. Will his defensive expertise help turn the tide for the Packers offense?
