Could the Rolling Stones Rock Sevilla? Fans Hope for a Cartuja Concert in 2025
Sevilla could be the next stop on the Rolling Stones’ infamous world tour. Rumors have been swirling that the legendary British rock band will add ser and spice to their ‘Hackney Diamonds 2025’ European tour with a performance at the Estadio Olímpico de la Cartuja on May 24th.
Fueling the fire, reputable sources like the Daily Mail have confirmed the Stones will be touring Europe between May and July, with approximately 14 stops in major capital cities. Spanish music portal Plásticos y Decibelios further ignited fan anticipation by hinting at Sevilla’s inclusion in the tour schedule.
This potential gig could be the third major event at the revamped Cartuja Stadium, following the Copa del Rey final in April and a concert by popular Spanish artist Manuel Carrasco in May. The stadium itself is undergoing major renovations, set to seat 70,000 with a potential capacity exceeding 80,000 for the estimated Stones concert. This would mark a significant milestone for Sevilla’s music scene, welcoming the band for the third time in Andalusia after shows in Málaga (1998) and El Ejido (2007).
The Rolling Stones are no strangers to Spain, having performed 23 times in the country since their first show at Barcelona’s Monumental bullring in 1976. Barcelona has been a particularly frequent stop.
While nothing is officially confirmed, the buzz surrounding a potential Sevilla show is palpable. The band’s website has yet to release formal tour details, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the official announcement. Last year’s ‘Hackney Diamonds’ tour kicked off in Houston and spanned 20 shows across the US and Canada, demonstrating the band’s continued global appeal.
Sevilla’s anticipation is reaching fever pitch, with the dream of seeing the legendary Rolling Stones live taking center stage. Could this be the year the city hosts the iconic band? Fans across the globe hope so.
