Bradley Announces Ryder Cup Team, Opts to Stay Home

Keegan Bradley is keeping his clubs at home. After months of speculation, he announced Wednesday he won’t be one of his six captain’s picks for next month’s Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

instead,Bradley selected Justin Thomas,Collin Morikawa, and Ben Griffin – ranked Nos. 7-9 in the final points standings – along with Patrick Cantlay, Sam Burns, and Cameron Young.

“The decision was made a while ago that I wasn’t playing,” Bradley stated. “There was a point this season where I was going to play, but these guys stepped up and earned their spots on the team.”

These six picks join automatic qualifiers scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau, Russell Henley, and Harris English, completing the U.S.roster for the two-year points cycle.

bradley’s decision to exclude himself is somewhat surprising, especially considering recent events. He was left off the 2023 Ryder Cup team, then unexpectedly named captain in July 2024 as the PGA of America aimed for a change in leadership.

Initially, Bradley said he’d only play if he qualified automatically. However, his position shifted after winning the Travelers Championship, a significant PGA Tour event.Despite not maintaining that momentum in the final stretch of the season, he played well at the Tour Championship, even competing in the penultimate group.
