Samsung Smartphone Prices Rise in Indonesia
Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Samsung adjusted the prices of its smartphones in Indonesia in early 2026. Price increases were observed in almost all product lines, starting from the mid-range Galaxy A series to the flagship Galaxy S.
A price comparison between the Samsung Official Store on Tokopedia as of october 2025 and the official Samsung website as of January 1, 2026, shows an increase of around IDR 100,000 to IDR 500,000 per unit. This price adjustment is in line with rapidly increasing pressure on global component costs.
Previously, according to a Counterpoint Research report, the global smartphone market experienced significant component price hikes in the latter half of 2025. Key components like memory chips, display panels, and processors saw significant increases due to supply chain disruptions and increased demand.
“The rising cost of components is unavoidable for manufacturers,” explains Putra Pratama, a tech analyst at GadgetInsight.”Samsung, like other brands, is forced to pass some of these costs onto consumers to maintain profitability.”
The price increases vary depending on the model. The Galaxy A14, a popular entry-level device, saw a price increase of IDR 100,000, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung’s top-of-the-line flagship, experienced an increase of IDR 500,000.
Consumers have reacted with mixed feelings. Some understand the necessity of the price adjustments, while others express concern about affordability. Online forums and social media platforms are filled with discussions about the impact of the price hikes on purchasing decisions.
