Reimagining International Law: Call for Papers
The future of international law is at the forefront of global discussion. This year’s international law conference, “Futures of International Law,” invites critical reflection on the contemporary legal order, its effectiveness, and its ability to address pressing global challenges.
Recent events, from the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine to the global climate crisis and its impact on migration, highlight the urgent need to examine the role of international law in a rapidly changing world. Is it a tool for justice or a mechanism that perpetuates inequalities? Can its foundations be reimagined to better serve the needs of all?
Exploring Key Themes
Through diverse panels, keynote addresses, and scholarly contributions, the conference aims to tackle these critical questions and explore innovative solutions. Key themes to be examined include:
- The Legitimacy of International Law: Historical challenges and contemporary issues
- Structures and Practices of International Adjudication
- The Myth and Reality of International Humanitarian Law
- International Economic, Climate and Investment Law: Imperialism, Colonialism, and Global Inequalities
- Human Rights and Inhuman Wrongs
