Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, a leading South Korean insurer, has introduced ‘ON[ON]통보장,’ a new health insurance product designed to cover major diseases and provide additional support services, according to an official company announcement.
Coverage for Six Major Disease Categories
The ON[ON]통보장 provides coverage for six specific disease categories: cancer, cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases, and conditions affecting the liver, lungs, kidneys, and musculoskeletal system. As stated by the company, the policy also includes benefits for intensive care unit (ICU) admissions and medical procedures such as organ transplantation, resection, and frequent surgeries.
Decade-Based Coverage Restoration and Death Benefits
Policyholders can utilize their coverage for treatment costs within specified limits. Any remaining coverage amount can be applied toward a death benefit, as outlined by Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. To ensure long-term financial security for beneficiaries, the coverage amount is restored to its original level every 10 years.
Integrated Support and Home Care Services
Beyond traditional medical coverage, the product includes a range of supportive services. According to the insurer’s description, these include hospital companion services, dementia gene testing, home nursing care, and assistance from caregivers to support daily living activities.
