Facundo Morando’s Journey to Alianza Lima
Facundo Morando (born April 11, 1988) is an Argentine volleyball coach currently leading Alianza Lima of Peru. His career began as an assistant coach at Club Atlético River Plate in 2011, a role he held until 2015. He has since gained international experience, serving as an assistant coach at Al Ain Club in the United Arab Emirates and Ziraat Bankası in Turkey during the 2016-2017 season.
Morando returned to Argentina in 2017 as an assistant coach at UNTreF Vóley before taking his first head coaching position with Romeo Normanna Aversa Academy in Italy’s Serie A3 in 2018. He then coached VC Tirol in Austria from 2019 to 2022 and Oberbank Steelvolleys Linz Steg during the 2022-2023 season.
In 2023, he joined the Argentine women’s national team as an assistant coach, contributing to their bicampionship win at the Copa Panamericana. He was contracted by Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna in Spain in 2024 and announced as the new coach of Alianza Lima’s women’s volleyball team in April 2025, replacing Paulo Milagres.
