Sean Neary, formerly of Magherafadda, Ballyheane, Castlebar, passed away unexpectedly on February 1st, 2026, at Mayo University Hospital.

Sean was predeceased by his parents, James and Kathleen (née Corley) Neary, and his sister-in-law Geraldine, as well as his nephews Gerard, Eric, and Lee.
He is deeply mourned by his wife, Caroline (née McLoughlin), and his daughters, Serena, karen, and Sarah. Sean’s legacy extends to his grandchildren, Byron and Becca, Kyle, Ayla, Emily, owen, and Sean, and also his sons-in-law, Geoffrey Bourke, Kieran Biggins, and Geoffrey Conboy.
He is also survived by his brothers, Peter, Mattie, Seamus, and Tom, and his sisters-in-law, Jenny, Martina, Veronica, Maria, Chrisy, and Joan. His brothers-in-law, Tommy, John, Benny, and Dick, along with a wide circle of family, relations, and friends, will also remember him fondly.
May he rest in peace.
Funeral Arrangements
Sean will repose at his home, 71 Rowan Drive, Castlebar, F23 D594, on Tuesday, february 3rd, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The family requests that the home be kept private outside of these visiting hours, except for close family and friends.
The funeral cortege will arrive at St. patrick’s Church, Ballyheane, on Wednesday, February 4th, for Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Following the Mass, Sean will be laid to rest in Ballyheane Cemetery.
For those unable to attend in person, the Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on www.churchtv.ie/ballyheane.
