### Waterford Campus Hit by Cyberattack
Classes on Monday were cancelled across the Waterford campus except for laboratory sessions. Access to internet and online resources is currently unavailable. Campus officials were alerted to the cyberattack on Friday. Thankfully, SETU reports no evidence of any compromised data or information.
### SETU Responds Swiftly
SETU acknowledged the attack in a statement to local radio station, WLR, emphasizing swift action by their IT team to safeguard systems. Security experts have been engaged and investigations are ongoing. ” The university continues to closely monitor the situation. They reassured students and staff at the south-east campuses that classes, excluding Waterford, would continue as planned. Apprenticeships classes at Waterford will operate normally.
### Classes Postponed Due to Offline Systems
The postponement of classes solely at the Waterford campus gives staff the opportunity to restructure lectures to accommodate the ongoing internet outage. SETU aims to minimize disruption while ensuring the safety of student data.
