Vimmerby Stuns Björklöven in Allsvenskan upset
bottom-ranked Vimmerby shocked the hockey allsvenskan by defeating league leader Björklöven on the road. The game finished 1-3 (1-0,0-2,0-1).
Björklöven suffered their first loss after seven consecutive games with points.
Liam Dower Nilsson gave Björklöven an early 1-0 lead after eleven minutes, assisted by Jacob Olofsson and Oliwer Sjöström. However, Elliot Ekefjärd and kevin Wennström quickly turned the tide for Vimmerby, putting them ahead 1-2. Elias Lindgren of Vimmerby extended the lead to 3-1 at 3:28 of the third period, with assists from William Alftberg and Anton Carlsson, completing the comeback.
Vimmerby now sits in eleventh place in the standings, while Björklöven remains at the top, five points ahead of Modo.
Björklöven’s next game is against Västerås. Vimmerby will face Mora away. Both matches are scheduled for friday, November 14th, at 7:00 PM.
