Sables-d’Olonne, France – September 10, 2025 – British singer-songwriter Chris Simmons is undertaking a unique and ambitious project: hitchhiking from Worthing, England, to Sables-d’Olonne, France, culminating in an impromptu concert on Saturday, September 13th, 2025. The journey aims to foster a cultural connection between the twin cities of Sables-d’Olonne and Worthing, a bond Simmons feels has been largely untapped.

The artist announced his endeavor on social media, describing it as a “totally insane thing” and requesting assistance from the public. Simmons began his hitchhiking adventure on Thursday, September 11th, departing from More Radio in Worthing with the goal of reaching Sables-d’Olonne in time for his planned performance.

“Guys, I’m doing a totally insane thing and I need your assistance!” Simmons posted, inviting participation and support from his followers.

Improvised Concert & New Single Debut

The concert, scheduled for 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 13th, will serve as a launchpad for Simmons’ new indie rock single, “Navigators.” The song, described as simple with only four chords, is designed for collaborative performance. Simmons is actively encouraging guitarists and musicians of all skill levels to join him on stage.

“The song is very simple, it’s only four agreements, guitarists can come and play at the same time as me,” Simmons explained, emphasizing his desire for an inclusive and spontaneous musical experience.
