Coogler will also be directing the third installment in the “Black Panther” franchise. He confirmed that the movie is next, and that Denzel Washington will be involved, though details remain scarce. Washington previously teased to The Root that he was in talks with Coogler for an upcoming project.
Michael B. Jordan: Beyond the Twins
Michael B. Jordan will be stepping away from his Southern accent for the heist thriller “The Thomas Crown Affair.” The film is a reimagining of the 1968 and 1999 films, with Jordan playing “a billionaire who steals a painting from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is pursued by an insurance investigator only to see them fall in love,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jordan will also lend his voice to the animated buddy comedy “Swapped,” set to release on Netflix in 2026. The film follows a woodland creature and a bird who swap bodies and must team up to survive, according to Netflix’s official synopsis.
Wunmi Mosaku: New Roles on the Horizon
Wunmi Mosaku will be appearing in “The Social Reckoning,” a companion piece to the 2010 film “The Social Network,” which told the story of Facebook’s origins. Aaron Sorkin is set to direct, and the film is scheduled for release on October 9.
Mosaku will also star in the prison break thriller “The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd,” playing a character named Gladys. Filming reportedly wrapped in August 2025.
