Skier Dies After Incident at Himos Ski Resort in Finland

The Rescue Service of Central Finland received a call regarding the incident at approximately 2:45 p.m. Preliminary information suggests the skier collided with a rock. However, Elsi Ojala, CEO of Himos Group, stated that authorities have not yet confirmed this as the cause of the accident.
The incident occurred on a moderately difficult slope at the bottom of the northwest slope. Ojala confirmed that the restored slope area is free of rocks, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances.

The police are continuing to investigate the cause of death. The Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) has been informed of the incident and is monitoring the situation. Tukes shares service inspections with rescue services depending on the type and quantities of chemicals handled and stored.
