Vermont Catamounts Finish Fifth at 2026 NCAA Ski Championships, Brewster and Greenberg Earn All-American Honors

MIDWAY, UT – The University of Vermont (UVM) Nordic ski team concluded its competition at the 2026 NCAA Ski Championships held at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, finishing fifth overall with 334 points. This result surpassed their rivals, Dartmouth College, by 20 points. The University of Utah secured the NCAA Championship title with a total of 549.5 points .

Brewster and Greenberg Achieve All-American Status

Haley Brewster earned a First Team All-American honor, finishing as the national runner-up in the 20k Freestyle race with a time of 52:22.4. This marks her third career National Runner-up finish . Tabor Greenberg also received First Team All-American recognition, placing third in the men’s 20k Freestyle with a time of 46:21.7, just 7.1 seconds behind the national champion .

Strong Performances Across the Board

The UVM women’s Nordic squad led all teams in points on the final day of competition, earning 77 total points in the 20k Freestyle mass start. First-year skier Lena Poduska secured Second Team All-American honors with a 10th-place finish, clocking a time of 52:59.0 in her NCAA Championships Freestyle debut. Kristin Maltun Helland achieved a career-high finish of 12th in the 20k Freestyle, contributing 19 points to the Catamounts’ total with a time of 53:19.9. Rosie Fordham of the University of Alaska Fairbanks won the women’s individual national title with a time of 51:54.6 .

On the men’s side, Ruben Kretzschmar finished 21st in the 20k Freestyle (48:57.2), earning 10 points, while Petter Bakken placed 33rd (51:49.4). Mons Melbye of Utah won the men’s national title with a time of 46:14.6 .
