Southern Wesleyan Warriors Golf: Andrade Finishes Top 10 at Sapona Intercollegiate

Lexington, NC – The Southern Wesleyan University women’s golf team concluded their participation in the Sapona Intercollegiate on Tuesday, securing a fourth-place finish. The tournament, held at the Sapona Golf Club, saw strong individual performances from Mia Andrade and Amelia Alonso.

Tournament Results

Southern Wesleyan posted scores of +48 in the first round and +32 in the second round.

Individual Performances

Mia Andrade led the Warriors, finishing in ninth place overall. She carded an 81 in the first round and improved to a 75 in the second, resulting in a total score of 156.

Amelia Alonso finished 23rd with a two-round total of 169. Her scores were 86 in the first round and 83 in the second.

Barrett Owens secured 31st place with a total score of 172, achieved through rounds of 85 and 87.

Allie Thomas finished in 33rd place, posting scores of 84 and 89 for a total of 173.

Next Competition

The Warriors will continue their spring season at the Converse Spring Invite on March 9-10. Following that, they will travel to Jonesborough, Tennessee, to compete in the Agnes McAmis Memorial, hosted by Tusculum University, on March 16-17.
