Muižniece’s journey into porcelain began unexpectedly in 1994 during a furniture project. The need for unique, custom-painted pieces spurred her to take matters into her own hands, a decision that would define her artistic path. Since then, Muižniece has dedicated herself to blurring the lines between artistry and functionality, transforming ordinary porcelain dishes into captivating canvases.
The process begins with a careful selection of white porcelain – dinnerware, teacups, or decorative objects – each chosen for its unique shape and character. These pieces then become the foundation for Muižniece’s artistic vision, adorned with intricate overglaze color applications inspired by nature, surroundings, and even her own emotions.
