Styriarte Festival 2026: A Celebration of Classical and Early Music in Graz

The Styriarte festival, a renowned celebration of classical and early music, will return to Graz and various locations throughout Styria in 2026 with a program titled “LICHT SPIELE” (Light Games). The festival promises a diverse range of performances, from operatic masterpieces to intimate chamber music concerts, held in both traditional venues and the stunning setting of Eggenberg Palace.

Highlights of the 2026 Program

  • June 28 – Eggenberg Palace: The Magic Flute Picnic Concert – Ensemble Zefiro will perform a picnic concert at Eggenberg Palace and its park.
  • July 4 – Eggenberg Palace: A Day With Joseph Haydn – A full day dedicated to the works of Joseph Haydn, featuring six string ensembles in three concerts with performances by the Aris Quartet & Javus Quartet.
  • July 7 & 8 – Helmut List Hall: Haydn’s Creation – Tetiana Miyus, Mario Lerchenberger, and Mathias Hausmann will perform Haydn’s Creation accompanied by the Camerata Styria, Styriarte Festival Orchestra, and Patrick Hahn.
  • July 10 – Helmut List Halle: Romantic Night – Birgit Minichmayr and the Confringo Klavierquartett will present a lyrical evening featuring works by Eichendorff and Goethe, alongside music by Schumann and Mendelssohn.
  • July 11 & 12 – Stainz Parish Church: Mozart Requiem – The Arnold Schoenberg Choir and the Styriarte Festival Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Hofstetter, will perform Mozart’s Requiem.
  • July 16 & 17 – Helmut List Hall: Mahler’s Second – Miriam Kutrowatz and Maria Hegele will perform Mahler’s Second Symphony with the Styriarte Youth Orchestra, led by Mei-Ann Chen.
  • July 26 – Helmut List Halle: Of the Depths – The Royal Chapel of Catalonia and The Concert of Nations, led by Jordi Savall, will perform Charpentier’s Te Deum and other works.
