Brumbies Promote Three Academy Graduates to Senior Squad
The ACT Brumbies have announced the promotion of Kye Oates, Eli Langi, and Harvey Cordukes to their 2026 Swyftx Super Rugby pacific senior squad, following yesterdayS squad proclamation. All three players have progressed through the Brumbies academy system and have represented the club at various levels.
Kye Oates
Age: 26
Position: Outside Back
Height: 180cm
Weight: 90kg
Oates, a proud Nunukul, Ngughi and Goenpul man, is a product of the Brumbies Indigenous Pathways Program. He was selected for the inaugural First Nations & Pasifika XV squad to play against the British & Irish Lions earlier this year.oates has been a consistent performer for the Canberra Royals in the John I Dent Cup, recently playing alongside his brother, Chace, a fly-half who excelled for the Brumbies under-19s this season.
Brumbies head coach Stephen Larkham praised Oates’ recent form, stating, “Kye had a tremendous club season and has played fullback for a long time now while training with us. I thought he was outstanding in the John I dent Cup. He was one of the best players in the competition… We felt that when he was on the field,things were being created and tries were being scored.” Larkham also highlighted Oates’ athleticism, agility, acceleration, and dialogue skills, noting his ability to create opportunities and see space on the field.

Position: Back-Row
Height: 191cm
Weight: 104kg
Langi captained the Brumbies under-19s this season, leading them to a 31-24 loss in the Super Rugby final against the Waratahs. He also represented Australia under-20s at the World Championship in Italy this year, where he was awarded the Graham Gordon Memorial Trophy for Best and Fairest under-20s player.
