Boston College Swimming & Diving to Host UMass in Home Opener

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving will kick off its home schedule on Saturday, October 5, 2024, hosting UMass at the Margot Connell Recreation Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., and live results will be available through the Meet Mobile app.
Scouting the Minutemen & Minutewomen
Saturday’s competition marks the season opener for UMass, under the leadership of head coaches Sean Clark and Maiya Otsuka, with assistance from Missy Bernosky. Clark is in his sixth year leading the Minutemen and Minutewomen, while Otsuka and Bernosky are both in their second seasons with the program. Boston College swept both the men’s and women’s competitions when the teams last met in amherst during the 2023-2024 season. The Eagles secured 10 individual victories on both the men’s and women’s sides. Ben Huffman and Lauren Lee each earned two wins, while Jack Doyle, Megan Kramer, and Samantha Smith each recorded multiple first-place finishes. Boston College recently competed in a quad meet at Duke University against Duke, Marymount, and East Carolina. The women’s team faced defeats against Duke and East Carolina, while the men’s team defeated Marymount but fell to Duke. several freshmen made a strong showing,with Palmer Bice, Evan Tack, Matthew cinque, and Luke amerson each winning events.
