Born in Bindin (now Jarai) in 2000, Nguyen Dean Kang initially auditioned for the lead role of Juong in Red Lane. The director sought a commanding presence,but Kang’s emotional depth during the audition-his ability to convincingly portray vulnerability-changed everything. He ultimately landed the role of the youngest brother.
Kang firmly believes he was destined to play the part, stating that no one else could have embodied the character as well. Driven to secure the role, he lost 11kg in just two weeks.Disappointed when he didn’t get the lead, he drastically altered his diet, eliminating carbohydrates and subsisting on chicken, eggs, and vegetables, all while pushing himself through rigorous training.
This rising star, now captivating Vietnamese audiences, has a surprising background: he’s a former taekwondo athlete. Growing up in a country renowned for martial arts, Vietnam, he spent ten years honing his skills at a physical education school.He later discovered his passion for acting through friends at art school,seamlessly transitioning from the dojang to the stage.
