Teenager Dies After Being Struck by Car in Lyngdal, Norway

A teenager died on Friday evening after being hit by a car in Lyngdal, Agder county, Norway. Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 7:50 PM local time, but were unable to save the boy’s life despite lengthy resuscitation efforts.

Details of the Incident

According to Ole Robert Strandhagen, operations leader at the Agder Police District, the teenager was struck by a vehicle in the Myrveien area, just off Agnefestveien. “When emergency services arrived at the scene, the person hit was lifeless,” Strandhagen stated TV 2. “Resuscitation was attempted for a long time, but unfortunately life could not be saved.”

The driver, a man in his 40s, was questioned by police and has had his driver’s license confiscated TV 2. Police have launched an investigation, with forensic technicians and the accident investigation group from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration currently working at the scene.

Community Response

The local municipality’s crisis team has been notified and is providing support to those involved and the victim’s family TV 2. The road was closed following the incident and remained closed for several hours.
