Two new diabetologists will begin providing in-person consultations on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, complementing the newly launched telemedicine program.Additionally, a cardiologist and a radiologist will be available to serve the Sorgona district population.

According to Alfonso gigante, director of the complex Diabetology structure of ASL 3, the submission of telemedicine to diabetology aims to “contribute to the reduction of waiting lists and the improvement of assistance in the territories, starting precisely from the socio-health district of Sorgono.” He further emphasized that patients in the area will benefit from the arrival of the two new diabetologists, addressing the needs of the Barbagia-Mandrolisai region.

Angelo Zuccarelli, the extraordinary commissioner of ASL 3, highlighted the importance of this advancement as part of a larger, three-year inter-company group effort focused on telemedicine.This group combines technology and expertise from various medical fields to enhance patient care and adherence to treatment plans.
