MORAGA, Calif. – The Boston University women’s soccer program concluded its West Coast road trip with a 1-0 loss to Saint Mary’s on Sunday afternoon at Saint Mary’s stadium.

The Gaels scored the lone goal of the match in the 67th minute when Lexi Romero found the back of the net off a feed from Kyla Hansen.BU nearly equalized in the 87th minute, but a shot from freshman Lila Miller was saved by Saint Mary’s goalkeeper, Sophia Sweeney.

Sophomore goalkeeper Molly Wilmoth made four saves for the Terriers.

BU will return home to host UMass Lowell on Sunday, sept. 7, at 6 p.m.

Boston University Women’s Soccer Falls to Saint Mary’s 1-0

The Boston University Terriers suffered a 1-0 defeat against the Saint Mary’s Gaels on August 31, 2024, marking the first time the team has been held scoreless in 14 games. The match, the first between the two schools in 25 years, ended in a tie in the all-time series, now at 1-1.
