The Civil Guard has arrested two men and prosecuted a third as responsible for having abandoned a health center in The Rioja a 21-year-old man who died when two of the 93 high-purity cocaine capsules he was carrying in his stomach exploded.

As reported this Friday by the Armed Institute, those accused of the death of this young man were the recipients of the shipment of cocaine, which the deceased had transported in his stomach from Colombia. The final destination of the drug was the Basque Country.

The investigation began on April 24, when the agents received notice of the death of a young man who had been abandoned at the health center in Saint Dominic of the Causeway. The toilets could not do anything to save the young man’s life, since two of the cocaine capsules he had been carrying in his stomach had exploded.

Once the corpse was transferred to the Institute of legal medicine de La Rioja to carry out the autopsy, it was found that the deceased was carrying a total of 93 high-purity cocaine capsules inside his stomach, which weighed 1,200 grams.

The investigators identified the three people who took the victim to the health center, where they abandoned her without any documentation.
