The Table of the Congress of Deputies, the governing body of the Lower House, has approved the distribution of seats for the present legislature. The proposal that the Socialist Parliamentary Group presented has had the favorable vote of its representatives and Sumar, while those of the PP have abstained. A distribution, according to sources in Congress, which has followed “historical criteria.”

Regarding the cast as per, the two main parties, PP and PSOE, face each other, something that has been common in past legislatures. While the formation with the most votes will occupy the right side of the president of the Lower House, although extending through the chicken coop to almost reach the socialist space, the force led by Pedro Sánchez expands on the left flank of the Chamber. Next to the socialist deputies are those of Junts (7) and the Mixed Group (3)

In addition, one of the most striking images that the new composition leaves behind is the proximity between Vox and the pro-independence parties. The group led by Santiago Abascal is very close, among others, to ERC, Bildu and PNV. While with the left formations it will have adjoining contact, with the force led by Admit Esteban They will be separated by a corridor, something that already happened in the last legislature.

It is also a new political portrait, since Vox has not been positioned next to ERC and Bildu before -the past four years have been separated from the abertzales by the Mixed Group. Thus, three political actors who have been characterized by their harsh reproaches in Congress are paired.

For its part, Sumar almost fully occupies the space held by United We Can the past four years. Almost full because two of its deputies are isolated by Bildu in the upper left margin if observed from the space of President Armengol.
