The Court confirms the prosecution of Granados for the alleged ‘box b’ of the PP of Madrid: "He manipulated the electoral accounts"

The National Court has confirmed the decision of the judge of punic to prosecute the former counselor of the Community of Madrid Francisco Granados in the piece in which the alleged illegal financing of the Madrid PP is investigated, understanding that there is sufficient evidence against him from which it is inferred that “he manipulated and falsified (…) the electoral accounts presented to the autonomous control body” in 2011.

In his car, to which Europa Press has had access, the Hall of SorrowHe thus dismisses the appeal filed by the defense of the former politician popular who sought to be exonerated, as happened in October 2022 with the former Madrid president Esperanza Aguirre and her successor Ignacio González for the alleged existence of a b-box for the different elections and for the contracts awarded by the Madrid administration and, specifically, reputation contracts online to position senior PP officials on social networks.

The Chamber understands that in the case of Granados there is no prescription for the electoral crime, as it alleged in its appeal, and that “despite the dialectical efforts made by the appellant.” “It has not been unquestionably proven that this file cause – the prescription – of the actions has operated,” he says.

It adds that the imputation of Granados in the piece cannot be challenged as surprising “much less as extemporaneous”, and underlines that there are not enough elements to agree on “such a drastic procedural solution, taking into account that, apparently, not even at the beginning of this procedure, nor when the appellant herein was declared as being investigated, had not elapsed the statute of limitations applicable to the named special criminal type”.

On the other hand, the Chamber indicates that it does not share with the appellant that the conducts attributed to Granados in this piece 9 of punic are likely to be archived due to the absence of rational evidence of criminality.
