The first weekend of summer will begin this Friday with the first heat wave and tropical nights, which will put five provinces in the southwest at risk this Friday due to high maximum temperatures since they will touch 40 degrees Celsius (ºC) and Cadiz with risk of wind and coastal phenomena, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
The arrival of an air mass of African origin and atmospheric stability will raise temperatures to 39ºC from this Friday in the southwest and that they will touch or exceed 40ºC on Sunday in a good part of the Peninsulaalthough the heat episode will continue until the middle of next week.
Thus, the AEMET has warned five provinces in the southwest due to the risk of high maximum temperatures and Cádiz due to the risk of winds and coastal phenomena.
Specifically, it has issued a yellow notice for Cordoba, Huelva, Jaen, Seville and Badajoz because this Friday they will reach 39 degrees Celsius (ºC) and for Cádiz, due to the risk of winds of up to 80 kilometers per hour and due to coastal phenomena in the Levant of 52 to 61 kilometers per hour offshore and south of Trafalgar.
This Friday a stable day is expected in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands with clear skies and dry weather except for some intervals of morning low clouds in the extreme north of the Peninsula and there will be some morning mists and fog banks in Galiciainterior of the Cantabrian area and in the Pyrenean area.
