On the morning of January 21, the China Sports Lottery Cup·2024 “City of Mangroves” Zhanjiang Half Marathon with the theme of “Delicious Zhanjiang, Dynamic and Healthy” kicked off.
This event attracted 13,000 players from home and abroad. Lao Lishi, the women’s synchronized 10-meter platform champion in the Athens Olympics diving competition who was born in Zhanjiang, Chen Xiaojun, the synchronized swimming team runner-up at the 2012 London Olympics, and Chen Xiaojun, the 2014 FINA Synchronized Swimming World Cup team champion, attended the starting ceremony of this event and jointly celebrated the competition. This event is technically certified by the Chinese Athletics Association, guided by the Guangdong Provincial Athletics Association, hosted by the Zhanjiang Municipal People’s Government, and hosted by the Zhanjiang Municipal Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau. There are two events in the event: half marathon and fun run. The 21.0975-kilometer track fully integrates the urban style and customs of the port city of Zhanjiang. .
After fierce competition, Wang Peilin won the men’s half marathon championship with an excellent time of 01:06:37, Sun Zongyang won the runner-up with a time of 01:07:04, and Chen Huawei won the third place with a time of 01:07:41. Zhu Qing won the women’s half marathon championship with a time of 01:16:24, Guo Liya won the runner-up with a time of 01:18:48, and He Fang won the third place with a time of 01:20:14.

The track design aims to create the best competition environment for athletes and help them perform at their best while feeling the temperature of Zhanjiang city. In addition to the fierce competition, the event also carefully set up running group competitions, special atmosphere points and other links, which not only demonstrated the charm of sports, but also allowed runners to deeply experience the charm of Zhanjiang’s intangible cultural heritage. The characteristic atmosphere points in various cities in Zhanjiang present a wonderful intangible cultural feast to runners, including the Zhanjiang Nuo Dance (British Examination) in Mazhang District, the Piaose in Wuchuan City, the lion dance in Suixi County, and the classics The Donghai Human Dragon Dance in the Kai District, the Tiaoshun Net Dragon in Chikan, and the Hong Quan performance are all included.
