The Court of Instruction number 53 of Madrid has filed the case against the economic management of the majority union of the National Police, Jupol, in the stage of the current general secretary, Aaron Rivero.
“There are no indications of the commission by the union of the alleged criminal offenses that can be charged,” reflects the judge in her order. Therefore, the magistrate agrees to continue the case against the former general secretary of the union, Jose Maria GarciaFernándezwho in 2021 was relegated from his position by the current Jupol Board of Directors “on learning of irregular expenses on his part.” The current secretary general, Aarón Rivero, has expressed his satisfaction with the filing of this case.
The cause-according to the order “was only based on lies and a smear campaign orchestrated from several fronts to attack the majority union in the days before the elections to the Police Council and thus avoid another four years of Jupol hegemony in the National Police”.
This union highlights that with this file of the case, “the falsity of all the attacks against the image of the current general secretary, Aarón Rivero, whose management at the head of it, has been confirmed, is completely blameless is also proven.”
As Rivero explains, “since his arrival at the union’s general secretariat in October 2021, Jupol has carried out three external audits of its accounts, which demonstrated their cleanliness and the good work of the union in economic matters.” He maintains that “Jupol’s accounts are absolutely clean and transparent.”
