Source Material and Story Origins
The anime adapts the light novel and manga versions of the original Japanese web novel written by Asa Rokushima, which debuted on the Shosetsuka ni Naro user-generated novel publishing website in January 2021. Kodansha subsequently acquired the property to release physical light novel volumes illustrated by Kisui. A manga adaptation illustrated by Mochi Gyomuyo launched in October 2021 in Shonen Magazine R before transitioning to Monthly Maga Kichi in February 2023, alongside digital publication on Comic Days and Magazine Pocket. English-language readers can access the manga via K-Manga.

The narrative follows Rein Garland, a support enchanter who possesses the ability to strengthen weapons and armor. After spending years empowering his guildmates’ gear, Rein is expelled by the continent’s largest guild on the grounds that he has already enhanced everything they own. In response, Rein reclaims every enhancement point he previously placed on his former comrades’ equipment. This action unexpectedly strips their gear of its power while converting his own cheap clothes and copper sword into items of immense strength, setting the stage for a new adventure.
