In the Heart of Tuscany: Backstage with Lucio Corsi and His Family
The Tuscan countryside near Castiglione della Pescaia is brimming with a newfound buzz. In the cozy embraces of the ‘Ristorante Macchiascandona’, where laughter mingles with the aroma of fresh pasta, Lucio Corsi’s family is basking in the celebratory afterglow of his remarkable second-place finish at the Sanremo Song Festival.
“We were glued to the screen, a mixture of joy, anxiety, and disbelief,” explains Nicoletta, Lucio’s mother, her eyes sparkling with pride. “Lucio is so authentic, so transparent on stage. Seeing him perform alongside Tommaso Ottomano was truly magical – they’re like brothers.”
That magic is palpable in the chart-topping success of their Sanremo performance, "I wanted to be tough." The video, a delightful blend of humor and emotion, captured hearts nationwide and has already garnered millions of views. The outpouring of love is overwhelming, even forcing Lucio to announce an extra concert date in Milan in response to the overwhelming demand.
“He’s always been a dreamer,” shares Marco, Lucio’s father, looking fondly at his son’s framed album covers, each source of inspiration born from the groundwork laid by Nicoletta’s artistic soul. "When he chose music, we fully supported him.
We believe in following your passions, no matter the path."
Even in the whirlwind of his success, Lucio remains grounded. "His happiness is all that matters," Marco emphasizes. "Seeing him doing what he loves is all the reward we need."
The restaurant, beloved by locals and frequented by friends like singer Francesco Bianconi and the siblings of a professional musician play a special role in their lives. It’s where Lucio’s music – literally – grew.
“The restaurant has always been his refuge,” Nicoletta says, “a place filled with warmth and family.”
This month, the family hopes to reunite at the table, sharing laughter and stories amidst the tantalizing aromas of ‘Tortelli with Ragù’ and other Tuscan delicacies, a testament to the unwavering support and dedication that have helped fuel Lucio’s extraordinary journey to stardom.
The stage might be his habitat, but his heart belongs to this peaceful corner of Tuscany, where dreams take flight.
