The PSOE goes from public criticism to the Prosecutor’s Office. The party is finalizing a complaint for the statements of the president of Vox, Santiago Abascalin which he predicted that the day will come when the people want to “hang by the feet” of the President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezand for the “sieges” to which party headquarters such as the one on Ferraz Street in Madrid have been subjected in recent weeks.

The argument of the Ferraz leadership is that both the words of the Spanish politician in the Argentine newspaper Clarion as the citizen protests against the Amnesty Law – in which he personally participated – constitute “a clear example of a hate crime” against the majority partner of the coalition Executive that is “something inadmissible in democracy” and that “disqualifies those who they promote it.”

“We want the full weight of the law and the Penal Code to fall on Abascal and Vox,” said Patxi López, spokesperson for the Socialist Group in Congress. The party’s legal services are finalizing the reduction of the complaint, which is expected to be presented this Wednesday, and it has not yet been detailed whether it will go personally against its leader, who is qualified for being a deputy, or against the party in general.

Furthermore, the representative of Sánchez’s party in the Lower House has insisted that, “in addition to criminal consequences”, his words should have “political consequences.” In this sense, he has insisted on the pressure that the PSOE is trying to exert on the PP to break their governments with “these professional haters.”

Vox, in turn, presented a document in December 2022 in which it requested five years and nine months in prison for a hate crime and threats against a tweeter who published on social networks. a photo of Mussolini and his lover hanging by the feet along with the following comment: “Abascal and [Rocío] Monasterycolgadxs of the bridge Vallecas like their italian idols #VallekasAntifascist“.
