2026 César Awards: ‘L’attachement’ Wins Best Film, Jim Carrey Honored

The 51st César Awards ceremony, celebrating the best of French cinema in 2025, was held on February 26, 2026, at the Olympia in Paris. L’attachement (The Ties That Bind Us) took home the coveted Best Film award, while American actor Jim Carrey received an Honorary César.

Théodore Pellerin was recognized as Best Male Revelation for his performance in Nino, a film that also earned him the Louis Roederer Foundation Prize for Revelation at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Nadia Melliti was named Best Female Revelation for her role in The Youngest, having previously won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025.

Pierre Lottin won Best Supporting Actor for his operate in The Stranger, while Franck Dubosc surprisingly received the prize for Best Screenplay for A Bear in the Jura. The Unknown of the Grande Arche took home two awards: Best Special Effects and Best Production Design.

Pellerin is the third actor from Quebec to win the César for Male Revelation, following Marc-André Grondin (2009) and Niels Schneider (2017).
