Tom Hanks and Robin Wright Reunite for “Here,” 30 Years After “Forrest Gump”
After three decades, Tom Hanks and Robin Wright have rekindled their on-screen magic in the upcoming film Here. The duo, who captivated audiences with their chemistry in Robert Zemeckis’ Oscar-winning masterpiece Forrest Gump (1994), brought that same effortless connection to the set of this new epic drama.
At the film’s premiere at AFI Fest in Los Angeles, Hanks shared his experience of reuniting with Wright. “Everybody was [saying], ‘Oh, what was it like, the reunion?’ You know what it was? It was like, ‘Hey, how you doing?’” Hanks told People. “We just picked up right where we left off. I’m going to say we love each other because we’re so easy with each other.” He continued, “It was a luxury to be able to come in and get the same conversations we’ve been having for the last 30 years after a moment of, ‘Hey, this kooky look, do you believe this? Can you believe this? Look at this, look at this?’
Here promises a captivating tale spanning generations, exploring the complexities of human experience through the lens of multiple families living within a special place. Based on the graphic novel by Richard McGuire and penned by Zemeckis and Forrest Gump screenwriter Eric Roth, it’s sure to be a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant cinematic journey.
