# Top 10 albums of 2025 – by Meryl
A great metalcore album year 2025 summarized briefly adn succinctly.
For me, 2025 was clearly a metalcore and post-hardcore year: a lot of heaviness, big choruses and very different moods between anger, sadness, hope and nostalgia. According to Spotify Wrapped, the top genre was: Deathcore. With 87,233 minutes in 2025, this is extraordinary! My top 10 reflects exactly that – from established genre greats to bands that are currently experiencing their biggest push.
10. The Devil Wears Prada – „Flowers”
With “Flowers” TDWP present a late career highlight for me: modernly produced metalcore that combines darkness, melody and cinematic suspense. The album sounds powerful but controlled and shows a band refining their sound without losing their edge. I met TDWP in 2022 when I googled “Top Album 2022 Metalcore” – and I’ve already had the possibility to see them live twice. I’m looking forward to their upcoming tour in fall 2026.
9.I Prevail – „Violent nature”
“Violent Nature” marks the start of a new era for me at I Prevail – harder, darker and emotionally raw. Between brutal outbursts and atmospheric moments, this is an album that feels personal and stadium-ready simultaneously occurring.
8. Memphis May Fire – „Shapeshifter”
With “Shapeshifter”, Memphis May Fire deliver what I want from them: powerful, melodic metalcore with catchy hooks and enough breakdown power to instantly ignite live. The album feels like a solid comeback from their strengths – neither pure nostalgia nor pure experimentation. I’m also realy looking forward to this upcoming concert in spring 2026.
