5. Mel Buttle, 2021
Comedian Mel Buttle’s departure from the show was unique in that she wasn’t voted out, nor did she struggle with a specific challenge.
Rather, it was Mel’s intense phobia of snakes which saw her exit the jungle.
After campmate Pettifleur Berenger spotted a snake, Mel broke down, saying even “a photo” of a snake caused her distress and left on Day 4.
“I know I’m going to regret it,” Mel said as she left, before quipping, “but I can always go on Bachelor In Paradise.”

## Celebrities Who Walked Away From ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’

The lack of food and difficulty of the challenges can wear down celebrities. For former NRL star – and current The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition – host Beau it was the absence from his family which the heaviest toll.
“My kids need their dad. My wife needs her husband. And I need to find myself back at the moment… I can’t gain anything else from this show. Call it what you like, but … my journey here’s over,” he told shocked campmates before leaving the show.

Dom Reveals the Real Reason He Signed Up for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Dom Barson, known for his role as ‘Bazza’ on Home and Away, has opened up about his surprising decision to enter the jungle for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. While many contestants cite a love of adventure or a desire to challenge themselves, Dom’s motivation was surprisingly practical.
“Honestly? The mortgage,” he confessed with a laugh. “I’m not going to lie. Being an actor is fantastic, but it’s not always consistent work. When the offer came through, I looked at my wife and said, ‘Well, this could really help!'”
dom admitted he wasn’t initially thrilled about the prospect of facing his fears – particularly spiders and snakes. “I’m a city boy. I grew up in London. The closest I got to wildlife was pigeons in the park!”
However, he quickly embraced the challenge, throwing himself into the Bushtucker Trials with characteristic enthusiasm. “It’s been terrifying, but also incredibly liberating. You learn a lot about yourself when you’re stripped of all your comforts.”
He also shared that the experience has been a bonding one with his fellow campmates.”We’ve all become really close. We’re a bit of a dysfunctional family now,but a family nonetheless.”
Despite the hardships, Dom remains optimistic about his chances of winning over the public. “I’m just being myself, and hopefully, that’s enough. And if not, at least I’ll have a good story to tell – and a slightly smaller mortgage!”
