Transgene Schedules SITC Poster Presentation for PoxSTG-EEV Oncolytic Virus Data
Transgene announced on November 3, 2026, that new preclinical data regarding PoxSTG-EEV, its novel enveloped chimeric oncolytic virus, have been selected for a poster presentation at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) 2026 Annual Meeting. The conference runs from November 4 through November 8, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona, as Transgene reported.
The findings center on PoxSTG-EEV, a next-generation chimeric oncolytic virus utilizing a proprietary Extracellular Enveloped Virion (EEV) formulation designed by Transgene. According to the company, the engineering aims to enhance intratumoral dissemination while increasing resistance to immune-mediated neutralization, thereby supporting systemic intravenous administration.
Preclinical Findings on Systemic Delivery and Tumor Growth
Preclinical studies demonstrated that PoxSTG-EEV enhanced cytotoxic activity across multiple tumor cell lines and improved intratumoral dissemination compared to conventional oncolytic vaccinia viruses. The formulation maintained its infectivity in the presence of active complement and neutralizing antibodies. Tests in mouse models showed that intravenous administration significantly reduced tumor growth and prolonged survival. “Oncolytic viruses have shown considerable promise in cancer treatment, however their full therapeutic potential could be further enhanced by improvements related to systemic delivery and intratumoral spread,” said Katell Bidet-Huang, Chief Scientific Officer ad interim at Transgene. Johann Foloppe, an author of the poster, is listed among the researchers studying PoxSTG-EEV.

Transgene Presents Chimeric Oncolytic Poxvirus Data at SITC
The scientific poster is titled “PoxSTG-EEV: a Novel Enveloped Virion – Based Formulation of a Chimeric Oncolytic PoxVirus Adapted for Systemic Delivery” under abstract number 1050. The presentation is scheduled for November 7, 2026.
The poster will be made publicly available on the websites of SITC and Transgene on November 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The author team includes Johann Foloppe, Juliette Kempf, Michèle Klein, Julie Hortelano, Baptiste Moreau, Laurine Gault, Isabelle Farine, and Philippe Erbs.
