A Targeted Heist in Chiaravalle
Two men are currently standing trial in Italy following the September 8, 2023, theft of €1,880 from a slot machine technician in Chiaravalle. According to reports from the local judiciary proceedings, the defendants allegedly tracked the victim after his collection rounds, shattered his vehicle window, and seized the cash alongside corporate data equipment.
The victim, a 55-year-old employee from Mondolfo, was responsible for emptying slot machines installed in various local businesses under the management of the Monopoli di Stato. During the evening of September 8, while his vehicle was parked on a public street in Chiaravalle, the car was targeted.
The Defendants and Legal Representation
The defendants, identified as a 36-year-old from Ancona and a 56-year-old from Falconara, face charges of aggravated theft in association. The trial is presided over by Judge Paola Moscaroli. Defense counsel for the accused include Filippo Paladini for the 36-year-old and Nicoletta Pelinga for the 56-year-old.

Surveillance and Witness Testimony
Carabinieri investigators identified a Ford vehicle departing the scene after reviewing surveillance footage from the area. While the footage did not capture the moment the vehicle glass was broken, a witness provided testimony during the trial regarding the incident. The witness was unable to identify the faces of the individuals involved but provided descriptions of their attire.
Discovery of Contraband in Falconara
Further investigation led to a search of the 56-year-old defendant’s residence on October 20, 2023. During this search, law enforcement discovered additional illicit items, resulting in further charges against the Falconara resident for the possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing and the illegal possession of ammunition. Specifically, officers recovered:
- Approximately 135 grams of methadone.
- 11 caliber 20 shotgun cartridges.
- One 9×21 Winchester caliber casing.
Ongoing Judicial Proceedings
The court has heard testimony from the Carabinieri officer who led the investigation. The legal proceedings are ongoing, with the next court hearing scheduled for November 26. The case remains under the jurisdiction of the local court, where the prosecution continues to build its account of the theft and the subsequent discovery of contraband at the residence of one of the accused.
