The set remained tightly contested, reaching a 23-23 tie before the U.S. secured consecutive points on a powerful kill by Hudson and a decisive block by Cos-Okpalla, clinching the set 27-25.

The U.S. carried this momentum into the third set, winning convincingly 25-20. Though, Mexico refused to concede, regaining control in the fourth set. Despite strong efforts from Chicoine and Hudson,Mexico closed out the set with a 4-0 run,forcing a decisive fifth set.

In the final set, the U.S. demonstrated their championship mettle,establishing an early lead and maintaining control throughout. A strong defensive showing and efficient offensive execution secured a 15-10 victory, sealing their place in the gold medal match.
