UCF Women’s Golf Claims Victory at UNLV Invite, Secures Second Season Win
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The UCF women’s golf team secured their second victory of the 2025-26 season with a final score of 866, finishing 13 strokes ahead of the competition at the UNLV Invite. UCF Knights
Dominating Performance After Initial Struggles
After a challenging first round where the Knights were in sixth place with a score of 16 over-par, the team demonstrated remarkable resilience. UCF dominated the final two rounds, recording the only under-par rounds of the entire invitational. They opened with a 203 (+16) in the first round before heating up in the afternoon to post a 280 (-8). As a team, the Knights totaled 19 birdies on the day and rose 5 places in the ranks during round two.
Individual Successes
The Knights showcased a strong all-around performance, with every player finishing in the top 20 of the invitational and three members securing top-five finishes.
- Mila Jurine: Finished second overall with a one-under-par score of 215, recording 13 birdies and earning her fourth top-five finish of the season.
- Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham: Tied for fourth place at even-par 216, highlighted by an eagle in the third round and eight birdies overall. This marked her 12th top-five finish of her collegiate career.
- Molly Smith: Secured fifth place with a one-over-par score of 217. She rebounded from a challenging first round with impressive performances in the second and third rounds. This was the eighth top-five performance of her career.
- Kinga Kusmierska: The freshman landed the best finish of her first year at 15th, shooting six over-par (222), nabbing 10 birdies in the invitational.
- One Kashima: Placed 19th posting eight over-par 224, highlighted by a one under-par outing in the second round to propel UCF to the front of the leaderboards.
- Kinga Kusmierska: Carded 150 (+6) on the day, placing 21st. Kusmeirska finished with six birdies, earning four in the second round.
Outperforming Massive 12 Opponents
UCF’s victory was particularly impressive as they outperformed five Big 12 opponents, including:
- No. 33 Houston by 20 strokes
- #28 Oklahoma State by 28 strokes
- BYU by 61 strokes
- #44 Texas Tech by 69 strokes
Looking Ahead
This tournament win marks the second of the season for the Knights, a feat last accomplished during the 2023-24 campaign. The team will now gaze to carry this momentum to the Briar’s Creek Invitational in Kiawah, S.C. On March 16-17. UCF Knights
