LOS ANGELES – Demonstrating a powerful commitment to both athletic and academic achievement, the UCLA men’s and women’s soccer teams have once again been honored with College Team Academic Awards by United Soccer Coaches. This marks the eighth year in a row that both programs have received this distinction, solidifying UCLA’s position as a leader in collegiate student-athlete success.

Consistent High Performance in the Classroom

UCLA stands among a select group of 161 institutions – spanning all NCAA divisions – to achieve this dual recognition for the 2024-25 academic year. This accomplishment highlights the dedication of the student-athletes and the supportive environment fostered within the UCLA athletic department.

The men’s soccer team maintained a strong Grade Point average (GPA) of 3.36 throughout the past academic year, extending their streak of academic awards to eight consecutive seasons.This consistent success reflects a sustained emphasis on academic rigor within the program. Furthermore, a noteworthy 14 members of the men’s team were acknowledged for their academic prowess with selection to the Academic All-Big Ten team.

The UCLA women’s soccer program continues to set a high standard, securing the award for an impressive 14 consecutive seasons. Their collective GPA of 3.26 for 2024-25 underscores their dedication to academic excellence. Notably, the team has achieved a GPA of 3.25 or higher for six years running. Individual accolades further demonstrate their success, with 15 players earning Academic All-Big Ten honors and two standouts, Lilly Reale and Sofia Cook, receiving prestigious Scholar All-America recognition.

Upcoming Schedule

Both the men’s and women’s teams are gearing up for the upcoming season with a pair of exhibition matches at Wallis Annenberg Stadium. The men will face CSU Bakersfield on Friday, August 8th, at 7:30 p.m., while the women will host LMU on Saturday, August 9th, at 6:00 p.m. Admission to both contests is free and open to the public.

The women’s team will officially kick off their 2025 season with an away game against Georgia on Thursday, August 14th. The men’s team will begin their season on Thursday, August 21st, with a road game against UC Irvine.
