University of Iowa Dance Faculty Concert Showcases Diverse Choreography

The University of Iowa Department of Dance is set to present its annual Dance Faculty Concert, featuring four distinct works choreographed by its esteemed faculty. Performances are scheduled for March 12th and 13th, 2026, at the Space Place Theater in Iowa City, Iowa.

Program Highlights

The concert program includes:

• Signal Lost: Choreographed by Jenn Pray in collaboration with the dancers.
• Matriarchs: Choreographed by Kyle Marshall, with contributions from the dancers.
• BLOD___CYCLS/: Choreographed by Sitso Gloria Ahlijah.
• Interwoven Worlds. – A Dance Journey: Choreographed by Eloy Barragán.

About the Choreographers

Jenn Pray, a central Iowa native, returns to her home state as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance at the University of Iowa. She holds an M.F.A. In dance from the University of Washington Seattle and a B.A. In dance and international studies from the University of Iowa Iowa Choreography Festival. Pray’s choreography blends dynamic movement, theater, and social commentary, and her operate has been presented nationally and internationally. She previously toured nationally with Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater from 2017-2021 Iowa Choreography Festival.

Kyle Marshall, Sitso Gloria Ahlijah, and Eloy Barragán are also faculty members within the University of Iowa Department of Dance, bringing their unique perspectives and expertise to the concert. Further information about these artists and their work can be found in the virtual program.
