Distance education from UNAM, two decades of training people wiht social commitment

at the inauguration of the days “20 years of distance education of humanities.” Humanities transcending borders”, carried out in the faculties of Philosophy and Letters (FFYL) and Economics (Fe), it was stated that the Open University and Distance Education system was strengthened by expanding the borders of the National University with the support of faculties were critical thinking and social viewpoint are promoted, such as FFYL, Faith and Law (FD).
Mary Frances Rodríguez Van Gort, director of the FFYL, recalled that at the beginning of the year 2000, when there was talk of working an agenda of distance education, a collaborative effort of interpretation of the social situation was envisioned, and also imagining a possible future in which it was required to invest.
Now,this teaching and learning modality has been strengthened and reinforced within the university.
Before students and academics gathered in the Aula Magna of that university entity,it was highlighted how the teaching and use of technology have allowed the progress of digital tools to integrate students,even from a distance,as part of the communities.
