Stéphane Zanella Returns to Lead Vica Amidst Restructuring

Stéphane Zanella is returning to his former position as general manager of Vica, a Roussillon-based cooperative, effective March 30th, 2026. This follows a period of internal challenges for the company, including a dispute over industrial espionage and the resignation of its president.

Turbulent Times at Vica

The return of Zanella, who previously led Vica from August 2016 to February 2024, comes after a tumultuous 2025. The company was involved in a complaint for industrial espionage against a former employee and a competitor, which was later withdrawn. Fabienne Bonet, who had served as president since 2013 and also held the position of president of the Chamber of Agriculture of the Pyrénées-Orientales, resigned.

A Familiar Face for a New Chapter

François Capdellayre, the president of Vica, announced Zanella’s return to employees. The move is part of a broader reorganization aimed at addressing the difficulties Vica is currently facing. Zanella’s deep understanding of the company’s structure and the Roussillon wine market, gained during his previous tenure and as president of the Roussillon wine inter-profession (CIVR), is expected to be invaluable during this period of transition.

Zanella’s Recent Role

Prior to his return to Vica, Zanella briefly joined the Bordeaux cooperative trade organization, Producta, after leaving Vica by mutual agreement in 2024. Stéphane Zanella’s LinkedIn profile confirms his experience with both organizations.
